Hi from Sophie 🦊

Hi! I’m Sophie. I’m going on this “Strong Historical American Women Tour” with my mom and sister tomorrow (I am not packed yet). It is mostly to see Laura Ingalls Wilder houses and stuff, because of my mom. I have been a huge Annie Oakley fan since I was about 8: I was looking through a stack of old books that my mom had got out, and I came across a “Step into Reading” book, called “Little Sure Shot: The Story of Annie Oakley”, and I sat down and read it right there. The book only had 48 pages, so I finished pretty quickly. But I couldn’t put it down. I read it over and over, until I pretty much had it memorized. I went to the library and I got as many books about her as I could. But now, almost 5 years later, I still have that same book about Little Sure Shot that started it all off, and that inspired me to ask my mom if we could go to her grave on our tour as well, so we changed the name from “Laura Ingalls Wilder Tour” to “SHAW” tour.

Bye,

Sophie

  3. Hey Sophie and mom and sis!
Great to hear that you are all setting out and we look forward to hearing of your adventures. I was just wondering though, if there is sushi in the mid-west….? πŸ™‚

  5. Since i don’t have a girl, i would just have to enjoy reading your post Sophie. You need to tell us all the details and interesting stuff you see and read on your adventure. Gabriel read 2 books of Laura Ingalls Wilder and i don’t think he even finished the second book ( not interested at all )!
Have a great trip sweet girl and enjoy the time you have with your mom and sister. I’m kind of “jelly” about your tip… πŸ™‚ Take care..

  8. Hi Sophie,

I remember reading that book! Wasn’t Annie Oakley able to shoot something behind her while riding a horse and looking in a mirror? I hope you have a fantastic trip. Give Annie my love.

    • She could shoot something looking in a mirror, but I don’t think she could do it on the back of a horse. She could also look into a knife blade with her gun behind her back and shoot straight through the middle of a card. 😘🦊
