We just took a tour of the Mary Todd Lincoln House in Lexington. For her time, Mary Todd was one of the most educated women, very different from her future husband Abraham Lincoln. She was well known (and sometimes criticized) for her style and willingness to spend money on the White House. She had a great partnership with her husband. Later in her life she suffered great depression from the deaths of Abraham and her children.
